Naming the language you are about to speak is measurably faster than letting the model work it out.

Settings holds the dictation language. Set to a single language, the model is told what to expect. Left on automatic, it spends an extra pass on every request deciding, which this project measured at 220 ms per request on 7 September 2026.

Set it to the language you speak most and change it on the days you do not. The interface language is a separate setting, so an English interface can take Greek dictation.

Mixed sentences

Technical words in English inside a Greek sentence come through with the language fixed to Greek. A whole paragraph in the other language is the case that needs the switch.
